Information the service uses
Account and social functions use your email, account identifier, display name, sector, bio, location, rate, posts, films, songs, photos, saved posts, follows, messages, articles, reviews, hiring jobs and applications, including optional self-tapes. Login and hosting services may process IP addresses, device details and security logs.
If introduced, casting and licensing features may also process voice samples, consent videos, licence PDFs, contract-signing photographs, usage records and permissions. These features are not all available here today. Do not send unnecessary identity documents or sensitive information in a public post.
Purposes and lawful bases
Account delivery, hosting uploads and messaging are generally necessary to provide the requested service. Proportionate fraud prevention and service security may rely on legitimate interests, following a balancing assessment. Legal recordkeeping may rely on legal obligations. Optional marketing and non-essential tracking require the appropriate consent.
Voice or facial material used for biometric identification may be special-category data and needs a separate lawful condition, safeguards and clear information; an ordinary upload permission alone is not enough. We do not claim that such identification processing is active on this site.
Who can see information
Signed-in members can currently see shared profiles, posts, articles, reviews, jobs and follow relationships. Direct messages are restricted to their participants. Application details and self-tapes are restricted to the applicant and job poster; unshared uploads should remain private to their owner.
Managed hosting, authentication and storage providers process information to deliver the service. Paid checkout is on booktoreel.com; payment-provider processing and that site’s privacy notice apply there. We do not promise that the two sites already share all account data.
International processing and retention
Data may be processed in UK, EU or US locations depending on contracted providers. Where UK GDPR requires international-transfer safeguards, the operator must verify adequacy or an appropriate UK transfer agreement/addendum and assess the transfer. Hosting regions and contractual safeguards still need confirmation.
Keep information only as long as necessary for the stated purpose, taking account of security, disputes, legal obligations and backup recovery. The exact retention schedule, log periods and backup deletion cycle have not yet been confirmed. Deleting a public item does not necessarily erase lawful records or backups immediately.
Your rights and security
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to relevant processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact hello@yourstoryyourway.co.uk. A dedicated account-delete or data-export button is not currently available; requests require support handling and appropriate identity verification.
Access controls protect private messages and uploads, but no system guarantees absolute security. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. See GDPR Rights and Cookie Policy for further information.
